Operations Our water group is rounded out with our operations staff. Our operation specialists have the highest water and wastewater operator's licenses and have over 27 years experience in plant operations. Leading our operations staff is Nicholas G. Pizzi.  Mr. Pizzi was formally Assistant Commissioner of Water for Cleveland, and is PEAC Chair for the Partnership for Safe Water, a USEPA and AWWA initiative.  He has over 20 publications in the water supply field and authored the Twelfth edition of "Hoovers Water Supply and Treatment." He also was the author of the AWWA text "Water Plant Operator Handbook." Our operations staff provided plant start up services for Camden, S.C., and we have extensive experience providing operational assistance during trouble periods at plants, for example,  flooding, snowmelt, severe storm events. The group has assisted operational staffs in Santa Fe, NM; Cleveland, Lake County, and Dayton, OH; Danville, VA; Erie County Water Authority in NY; and Durham, NC with such diverse issues as operator training, technical plant supervision, facility and regulatory audits, jar testing, SOP production, and filter inspections and rehabilitation. Our staff specializes in operator training activities that yield contact hours for operators who need to maintain their licenses as required under the USEPA Operator Certification Rule. Our staff has designed and offers an AWWA course directed at those operators who are beginning their pursuit of professional licensing. EE&ampT also offers a filter inspection CPE course that has gained the National AWWA Education Award.
